60x48” Acrylic on Canvas
“I’m Laura, a Kansas City artist but New Englander at heart. I take a lot of what I’ve seen on nature and apply it to my art in realistic renderings with gracious tones. I love being able to create something familiar and recognizable while making space for a pleasant emotion such as peace or reconciliation. I began painting almost a decade ago to find peace after long shifts in a critical care role. I kept learning more and producing work that brought solace.
This piece “The Heron” brought me from some unknown mist to a decision. There is peace found in the water and strength in the wings. Unsure of what could be next, I can take flight.”
